Digital Waltz - Part 2

"Yeah.. that.. that could work" Mira said, looking at the robots with anxiety.

"It sounds really dangerous" Tomas said with worry: "Are you sure you wonna go through with it? We'll do our best to pull you out if things go south, but, you'll be in harms way until then"


"Got the device" Madelyn quietly said, gently pulling a small object from Zarovee's pocket. From afar, it looked like somebodies car key. A small dark object with a single button in the middle.

Madelyn passed it to Rogue.


"Please be careful" Tomas said with worry: "If you think things aren't going according to plan, just pull back"
He looked at everyone: "We should disperse, take offensive positions. If something happens, we'll attack at once, from different angles. Cover Rogue's retreat"


"Roger" Madelyn said, starting to fish out a giant unfolding axe, from a hidden compartment in her back.

"Roger" Madelyn said, starting to fish out a giant unfolding axe, from a hidden compartment in her back.

"Compared to some giant robots being fought recently, this is small fry" Rogue said to Tomas as he floats down to the group and receives the device, turning to Zarovee "FYI, if this doesn't work and i snuff it, i'm haunting you."

He then pulls up an illusion spell to make himself look all beaten up and injured, and lowers himself down onto the ground.

"No! Nooo! Bring him back!" Zarovee weakly called in panic: "The device could have been damaged in the explosion!"

"Please keep it down Doctor" Madelyn quietly said, laying in wait and gripping her axe tightly: "Its too late to back down"


Tomas slowly crawled a few meters away and slowly unfolded the concealed sword, out of his robot arm.

Mira did the same, but went in the opposite direction.



The Spiders continued to slowly march through the ruins. Their red eyes slowly scanning every inch of the area.

Several moments pass in relative silence, before one of the Spiders had spotted Rogue.

Slowly and carefully, it began walking amidst the rubble, making its way to its target. Each step of its six legs, sent a small audible tremor across the area. The weight of the machine must be considerable.

Coming up in front of Rogue, the Spider lifted one of its legs. Its cold eyes staring at the man on the ground.

(Naomi)
Keeping in her position Naomi picked up the closest thing that looked heavy, metal, and spear-like. A long piece of rebar or something similar. Naomi tracked the robot's head, prepared to throw the spear. Figuring that the eye would be structurally weaker she waited for either the robot to stop or for Tomas or Mira to attack.

The Spiders continued to slowly march through the ruins. Their red eyes slowly scanning every inch of the area.

Slowly and carefully, it began walking amidst the rubble, making its way to its target. Each step of its six legs, sent a small audible tremor across the area. The weight of the machine must be considerable.

Coming up in front of Rogue, the Spider lifted one of its legs. Its cold eyes staring at the man on the ground.

Rogue had his arms positioned so that he could press the button on the device without the movement being seen, and when the robot approached to what he felt looked like less than a metre, he triggered the device and then rolled out of the way of the leg, just in case the device doesn't work.

An audible spark echoed out of the Spiders head and it recoiled. Taking several steps back, it began feverishly shaking its head.

Its eyes went dark, then lit up again. It emitted a screeching yelp and dashed into a random direction.


".....it ran away" Madelyn quietly said: "...did it work? It should be free now, where do you think its going?.."

"WATCH OUT FOR THE SECOND SPIDER!" Tomas suddenly barked and jumped out of cover.


The second Spider was rampaging towards Rogue. Whatever minimal expression its head could emote, it seemingly showed outrage at what has been done to its partner.

"USE IT AGAIN!" Madelyn shrieked, jumping out of cover and swinging her massive axe, in preparation for a strike: "THE DEVICE! USE IT AGAIN! QUICKLY!!"


The second Spider was charging at Rogue at the speed of a moving car, mowing down whatever debris had fell in its way. Its jaws opened and a piercing metal screech echoed across the area.

Rogue leaps up from the ground, telekinetically-boosted jumps over the spider robot, and presses the button on the device again as he goes over its head.

The robot staggers a bit and slowly comes to a stop, as a loud spark echoes out of its head.

Its head lowered slightly and its eyes went dark. It stood like this for several moments, before the eyes lit up again.

It remained motionless, staring straight ahead, silent.


Madelyn waited, then slowly lowered her axe and took an unsteady step forward:

"H-hello?.. can you hear us?" she quietly called out to the spider.


The giant robot remained still. Its red eyes slowly moved, looking at everyone present.

The giant robot remained still. Its red eyes slowly moved, looking at everyone present.

Rogue lands on the ground behind the spider robot, and moves around the side to rejoin the others, giving it plenty of space "How intelligent were these guys again?"

"Smarter then us, obviously." Oboro snarked.

Arnold observed from afar, his leg not fit to approach naturally. "Careful, everyone. They may turn hostile again any minute."

Angelo observed the scene. "Hmmm... We should make our escape now, not surround this device out of pity."

"....device..." A digital voice of a woman, suddenly echoed out of the spider:
"...what... where am I.. "

The spider slowly lowered its head, looking down at the ground and its body.


".....aaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!..... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!"

A piercing shriek suddenly assaulted your senses, as the Spider recoiled back, stumbling over its legs as if it suddenly forgot how to walk. Its whole body shook, as it fell onto the ground, haphazardly moving its legs and getting them tangled:


"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY BODY!!!!" the woman's voice cried. Her piercing shriek sent a chill down your spine, making the blood turn cold in your veins.
So much horror and pain was behind it, it was unbearable to hear.


"LET ME OUT!!! LET ME OOOOOOOOOOUT!!!" The spider shrieked, clumsily stumbling across the street and onto incoming traffic.

Several cars barely had time to hit the breaks, as the robot crawled across the road and started violently bashing its own head against the side of the building.


"I DON'T WANT THIS!!! PLEASE!!! LET ME OOOOUUUT!!!" The Spider continued to shriek, as it violently bashed its head over the wall, pieces of its armor and carcass began to bend and break off. Small pieces of electronics sprayed across the sidewalk, and the Spider fell on its back and started violently clawing at its own body.

Its horrified shriek was piercing, unbearable and impossible to block off.

"JESUS WILL YOU GUYS KILL HER ALREADY!" rain calls through her earpiece she huffs in pain as she pulls herself up and sits at the edge of the vans back doors.

"Kill her?...I.. can't.." Madelyn called in pain: "...what if.. she's like me?..."


The Spider continued to convulse on the ground, its massive legs were threatening to smash something by accident.
The massive robot finally stopped moving and emitted a long, bitter scream:



"....MAGNUSON!!! YOU SON OF A BITCH!!! YOU LIED TO ME!!!" the Spider shrieked, then rolled onto its stomach and suddenly jumped over the road, sprinting towards the nearest cellphone tower. The entire street shaking with each of its steps.


"..Magnuson?.." Mira quietly called: "...why does that name sound familiar?.."



The spider pulled a sharp stop and angrily bit into the cellphone tower, its entire body became surrounded by electric pulsing light and it started moving in waves, from the spiders body and into the tower.

"What the hell is she doing!" Tomas called, sprinting after the robot and trying to keep up with its massive leaps.


"...she's... " Madelyn quietly said, squinting at the cellphone tower: ".....hacking into the city data base... she's looking for something... the amount of wireless traffic originating from her is staggering"


The Spider clenched its jaws, biting a large chunk out of the tower and throwing the debris randomly across the street, in a fit of unchecked rage. Then zeroed in on something and suddenly sprinted down the street, in an unknown direction.

With one of its leaps, it almost crushed a civilian car that was driving nearby. The Spider moved with carelessness and didn't pay attention to anything but its path.




"Where the hell is it going!" Tomas shrieked: "We have to go after it, before it kills someone!"

Madelyn sprinted back to the van that drove you here. As she jumped into the drivers seat, you saw several rows of ambulances and police cars arrive at the remains of the lab.


"They'll take care of the wounded" Tomas called, sprinting towards his car as well:
"Everyone, we may need to split up. If this one went on a rampage, the other spider might have as well... we have to stop them before they hurt someone"




Madelyn was sitting in her van, tightly squeezing the steering wheel, an expression of pain over her eyes:
"...why is this happening.. I thought" she looked down and started the engine.



As everyone got into her van and Tomas' car, the two vehicles roared and drove onto the road, falling behind the Spider, as it sprinted in an unknown direction.

You noticed Mira and Dr. Zarovee sitting at the back of Madelyn's van. Mira attempting to dress a wound on Zarovee's forehead.


As both vehicles drove forward, you began to see the devastation left in the spiders wake. Flipped cars, massive holes in the road, fallen trees and add boards. Several seconds pass and you saw the Spider a few dozen meters ahead, as it continued to sprint somewhere, its massive legs heavily thumping over the road.

"...gods... how do you stop something like that" Tomas said, grimacing with pain at the scene.

"I dont think we should... I say follow it until it reaches its destination and then bring it down. Zarovies lab is gone... We need a new target and this might give us a secondary..." she says laying back down.

"Spider rumbas weren't designed to have that level of intelligence, right?" Rogue asks, before levitating himself off the ground again and flying after the spider robot on the streets to catch up with it "I'll keep up with it, keep an eye out."

"Roger that" Tomas said into the earpiece: "Maddie, break off and follow the other spider. We need to stop them both asap"

"Right" Maddie said and slammed the breaks, before making a turn into an adjacent street.

(Maddie's Van)


Wiggling through traffic and keeping a moderately low speed, Madelyn was staring at the road with anxiety and clenching the wheel way too hard.

"...where did it go.." she said, squinting at the road: "The first Spider ran off, as soon as Rogue disabled its Neurochip... it didn't even say anything.."


She placed a finger to her earpiece, clicking something and tuning her frequency to listen in on the police broadcasts.

After a few minutes she made a turn, driving more confidently now: "...I'm getting haphazard reports of a Spider Tank.. storming into a.. bakery?... no fatalities or injuries reported..."


"It stormed a bakery?" Mira asked, raising eyebrow in bewilderment.

Dr. Zarovee was sitting at the back of the van, holding a hand to his head and attempting to block off the pain and loud sounds from the street.


In a few moments, you began to see signs of the Spiders path, dents on the road, left by its legs.

Madelyn slowed down and neatly parked in an empty parking spot, by the street side. In front of you was a large bakery. Most of its front wall collapsed, several dozen patrons were running outside and screaming in panic.


"What the hell is it doing" Madelyn muttered as she got out of the van and began slowly walking forward.

An elderly man, judging by his clothing - one of the bakers, had run outside and Madelyn quickly intercepted him, before he ran off:

"Good man, what is happening in there?" she called loudly, trying to be heard over the racket that echoed out of the bakery.


"A Giant Spider Tank just stormed in! Started devouring everything!" The baker yelled, his eyes wide open and miserable.

"The people?!" Madelyn turned pale.

"What? No! My product!" The baker covered his eyes: "Days of work, gone! It just barged in and started swallowing pastries, together with the trays and tables and everything!"

(Tom's Car)


As Madelyn's van peeled off and disappeared from sight, Tomas focused on the road ahead and the rampaging Spider in front.

"...Magnuson... Magnuson, I know that name... where have I heard it..." he muttered to himself aloud, until his eyes suddenly widened:


"...Magnuson was the name of the lawyer, who oversaw the Slavegear court case. He had the Heroes of Adelheid proven innocent. Faced off against Prosecutor Noel and won. He proved they were not responsible for the Slavegear disaster..."

He looked down at his phone and plotted a course to somewhere. His face turned a bit pale:


"...the Spider... its heading straight for the Adelheid's Court House"


He floored the gas pedal, the car jumping over the dents in the asphalt, left in the Spiders wake.


A few moments later, the Spider had reached its destination. At full speed it, it ran up the steps of the High Court and rammed the front wall, sending large chunks of debris flying across the street.


"MAGNUSOOOON!!!" The Spider shrieked: "WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU!!!"
It barged deeper into the Court House and started scanning the area, its razor sharp jaws snapping with an eerie metalic echo.

You saw dozens of civilians running outside in panic, as Tomas pulled a sharp stop, just in front of the steps that led up to the High Court.

Just realized I have everyone on the steam list (except Moon =(   )

Wanted to ask you guys, if anyone's up for a mass multiplayer meet up? Maybe some kind of game we all play, where we can hang out together?

Team Fortress 2 maybe? =D

Let me know if you guys want to organize something, some kind of day and time where everyone's free and we can all meet up for a game. In the weekend maybe?


Also, we could create a steam group, to better organize meeting times =D
But you guys gonna have to suggest a name for a group XD Cos if nobody suggest anything, I'm just gonna name it "Awesome Group" or something


Anyways, let me know your thoughts aaand have a great weekend ^^

These two were in the van of Maddie, unaware of a piece of information about another member of the group. When the van stopped near the bakery, they got out. More to observe, as neither were really in a state to fight.

"That fiend is stealing the food of the people!" Arnold shouted. "It must pay for this!"

Oboro spoke up. "... Why does it want to eat cakes and buiscuits? That doesn't really..." It then clicks. "Wait... That device, it was supposed to shut off the neurochip, right? If that's the case, then maybe..." She looked at Madelyn. "... Oh, shit."

(Angelo)

He was with Tomas, keeping an eye on him. "Whoever is in there, she hates that guy with all his guts. What foul deeds has he bestowed on it that makes such a reaction? Distant or future? Anyone, do a background check of possible enemies of him!"

(I say we make a discord server hehehe)

Rain grunts in pain as she pulls herself up and onto her feet. She could barely feel her legs and stumbles a bit "mnhg... God..." she slowly begins making her way to the spider, "HAY! BUDDY!..." she calls, "THE HELL ARE YOU DOIN'?" she steps over rubble not showing too much care about the giant spider, "you uh... Wanna talk? Im sure the baker has some tea." she stands close to where the counter might be.

//I'm sure I could bring my self to install TF2 again. And I'm thinking that Heroes of Adelheid as a name would be cool. The originals may be few, but aren't we all heroes at heart?

Face formed into that of confusion she stood beside Arnold and Oboro.

"Do any of you know what's going on? I leave for a few hours I and come back to" she gestures to the baker, Madelyn, and the shop "whatever the hell is happening."

(Frost)
Her signals disappearance those couple times while over the city wasn't cause for concern. It wasn't uncommon for someone in their line of work to vanish off the grid. But once Serena's signal had vanished over the surface of the lake, she knew something had gone wrong.  And with the giant robot screaming about a Magnuson she knew that something had gone very wrong.

Amongst those leaving the Court House was a strange looking girl. Her skin and hair all seeming to speak the worlds cold and ice. Spotting the newly arrived car and Rogue yelling at the robot to stop, Frost approached with caution. Her horn glowing and a small flurry of ice and snow in her palms began to form.
