Digital Waltz

Rain holds her breath, her eyes locking onto her target, she releases the arrow, her body making adjustments right before. She flips backwards into a dive as she knocks her next arrow flying to Violets attacker another arrow is sent soaring through the air from a longer range.


Violet shoots off in alarm her coat matted with blood by now the weight of her own body beging to slow her down.

She was just a farmer back in Nyx, dragged into a bad situation. She faints and begins to plummet out of the sky both unconsious girls now freefalling.

What would her friends think of her weakness...

She could feel the wind in her mane before she passes out.

as she strikes the ground a sickening crack is heard as her shoulder blade snaps, her entire body striking the harsh concrete. 4 more ribs break and as does one of her shinbones. Her breathing is shallow and ragged, blood coating her entire right side as she clings to life.

(Everyone)


Guided by the Skillwire system, the arrows whistled through the air.

An explosion suddenly rang in the sky, as one of the attacker's jet pack exploded and he plummeted like a rock, towards the rooftops below.

The second arrow whistled and another explosion rang in the sky. Another silhouette plummeted toward the ground.




As Jane fell passed the rooftop where Mist and Tomas were, Tomas had grunted and pushed himself off the ledge, unfolding his wings and diving after Jane's body.

He was half conscious threatening to faint at any second, as he glided and dived after Jane. After a second, he caught her, or slammed into her, unable to fully take control of his flight. Then he roughly glided towards one of the lower rooftops below.

Tomas placed Jane on the roof. She wasn't moving.

He looked at her, pale, then screamed into his radio:

"Mist! Place a tourniquet on Mira, before she bleeds out!
Moon, try to stabilize Violet!
Rain! Help Oboro! Two hostiles are descending on her!
Radiance, help the wounded off the roofs! We have to get ground side now!
Angelo! Try to hit the gas cylinder, then help Radiance!




As Angelo's attack was unleashed, the force of the his strike had slightly bent and caved in his attackers face.
The attackers hood flew off, revealing a robot, wearing not only clothes, but even a skin of a man.

The robots face received a long strike across its mid section, tiny pieces of metal flew out and its ocular sensors had shattered. But the thing still kept coming.

Seemingly blind, the machine emitted an eerie screech and flew directly at Angelo, reminding you of a massive, heavy and unstoppable wrecking ball. But the robot's movements were clumsy.
You noticed that once he committed himself to a direction, it wasn't easy to drastically change its flight path.

The robot shrieked and swung his clawed hand, attempting to cut through Angelo's torso.




As Oboro plummeted towards the ground, she noticed two shadowy figures rapidly descend upon her. Their red glowing eyes were staring into her very soul, as they raised their blades, aiming them at her heart.

It seems that in the next two seconds, they will kill her.

(Arnold)


"Sure" one of the employees released a cynical smile, just as you began to hear the echo of a dozen approaching sirens:

"We have the cops in our pocket. They have a warrant for your arrest. And they will be here within the next 30 seconds. Goodbye"


And the 20 something employees suddenly jumped onto their legs and sprinted away in different directions.
Most were heading toward the massive hole in the buildings entrance. It was wide enough to let them all squeeze through.


The van driver that arrived here with you, finally popped into view and decked one of the employees in the face, seemingly knocking him out. The other 19 continued their rapid escape, running right passed him.

(Radiance)
With a single flap of his wings, Radiance launched himself off the roof on an intercept course with Oboro. The gust of wind shifting Serena as a small explosion of dust ripples out. He's closed the distance in mere moments catching Oboro then tucking into a ball wrapping his wings around her in a protective shield. He rotates mid catch, using the smaller form to dodge past the Rumbas. Once again opening his wings he dives back down to the roof. He lands back down with Oboro next to the small group that has gathered.

(Everyone)


The two robots have followed you.
As you land on the roof, you heard two deafening thuds, as they heavily smashed onto the rooftop behind you, like a pair of hammers striking the ground.


The two figures rose.

One was in bad shape. Both of its hands torn, wires and metal sticking out of them.

The other was fine however. His hand opened up, revealing a long whip. As he unfolded it, readying to strike, a series of growing thuds suddenly rocked the rooftop and a giant Spider Tank suddenly showed its head over the roof.

Its massive jaws opened and it bit one of the robots, tearing its body in half.


The second robot, with torn arms, turned to face the monster, just as the spider brought its leg down, violently swatting the figure off of the rooftop.

The entire building you stood on, was shaking and rumbling. The Spider Tank must have climbed up the wall, leaving holes where its legs stepped.


The Spiders jaw opened and a distorted voice echoed out of its mouth:

"..-Go. Get to ground level. I'll hold them off" The Spider looked away and began scanning the sky for the remaining robots.

The ones that had their jet packs blow off, were still active. Still moving somewhere in the darkness, trying to jump and climb their way to your rooftop.

The Spider roared and loudly jumped onto another building, sending a shower of glass and small debris, raining down onto the empty street below.

(Angelo)

"Right, cylinder, got it."

He crouched slightly, before jumping over it as it passed. He delivered a strike right where he thought the cylinder was located, before landing.

"What's the next objective, captain?"

(Oboro)

When they got close, she raised her weapon to deflect the strike, but she didn't seem to hold it well enough. When Radiance grabs her, a small smile forms on her face, though she lets go off her spear.

"Thank you..."

She struggled to stay awake, but the damage was too severe. She was losing consiousness, fast.

"I'm sorry... For..."

No words escaped her lips afterwards.

(Arnold)

He closed his eyes for a moment.

"Next time, Arnold, have someone block the exit."

He opened them again, and headed to the decked employee. He lifted him up over his shoulder, and motions to the driver to come with him.

"I guess our hacker friend will get them at a later time. But we will use this chance! Let's move with him! The police can't move as fast in here."

He then makes his way inside, aiming to lose their trail.

(Moon)

Moon nodded and crawled over to Violet, removing her coat and sighing before she placed her hands gently on Violets chest and began the spell, her eyes turning red and her magic turning grey. She gasped and winced in pain as she tried to heal Violet. The spell, while it didn't merely transfer wounds over, it did rip apart parts of Moons own body to cast the spell. But it didn't deter her, even as blood dripped from her mouth and her nose, black swirls covering her arms.

(Mist)

Mist crouched down beside Mira and used her razor fingers to tear a strip of fabric from her top. She then carefully used it as a tourniquet, but didn't seem to be an expert on this.

(Everyone)


The robot in front of Angelo emitted a sharp roar, before the cylinder violently exploded, sending a shockwave to wash over Angelo. It felt like hitting a brick wall.

The robot shrieked and twisted, as it began to fall into the darkness below.



"Evacuate the wounded!" Tomas' haggard voice rang over the radio: "Down to the street level! Then head for the sewers!

We're going down into the Labyrinth. There is no camera surveillance there. No way to track our movement! We'll loose our pursuit there!"



You seem to be standing on the roof of a 30 floored building. Surrounded by higher and lower skyscrapers on all sides.

The Police Spider Tank was sitting on another roof, some 200 meters away, shrieking in an eerie metalic voice and shooting its water cannon at shadows in the darkness, aiming at targets that only he could see, in this dim lighting.

(Arnold)


The driver followed you close behind, as you both enter the depths of the building.
All lights in the stock exchange were out for some reason and the deeper you went, the harder it was to see where you're going.

Everything looked like a silhouette. Every shadow looked like a person.

The building was eerily quiet and the driver loudly whispered to you:


"Ted's daughter is somewhere in here! I bet this worm knows where exactly" he tilted his head towards the employee on your shoulder, just as you heard the police cars pulling up in front of the stock exchange lobby.

You were too deep into the building now, hidden in shadow. It doesn't look like the police know exactly where you have disappeared.

(Moon)

"I need to stabilise Violet before we try moving her. Can't make the damage any worse. I'll try and speed up the spell." She shouted back at Tomas. Moon tried to speed up and strengthen her spell, and it worked to an extent. Her arms shook and she collapsed to the floor, coughing and gasping as blood trickled past her lips. "Did....it..."

(Mist)

Mist sighed and used her augmented strength to lift Mira "I can carry her. Let's go." She said.

The Hooded Figure, still invisible, makes his way around the edge of the courtyard to the building, shuffling back from the hole in the wall as a bunch of apparent employees flee in presumed terror.

Peering through the hole once they leave, he spots Arnold. "Wait a minute, isn't that one of Princess Peach's Toads?" they say to themselves, remembering reading somewhere that Twilight had hired two clowns for some reason or other "What was his name? Archibald? Ardeth? Something beginning with A?"

"Brilliant distraction by the way, couldn't have done better myself..." they remark as they notice the rumbas just lying on the floor.

As police cars approach, they cast a 'want-it-need-it spell on a fallen brick from the wall and chuck it in front of the convoy in clear view of the drivers "... except i totally can, FYI; can't have the fuzz running around the place getting in the way." And with that, they levitate themselves up to the 15th floor and smashes the window to gain access.

(Radiance)
Radiance still holding Oboro with one arm shifts her and propers her over his one shoulder. He heads over to Serena and with struggling a bit pickers her and his coat up placing her over the other shoulder.

Serena is surprisingly light. Almost unnaturally so. His legs are still burning from the wounds and now the weight of carrying two unconscious bodies.

With both Oboro and Serena, he waits for the rest of the group. Making sure to move down the street and into the sewer when they all do.

(Naomi)
"Let me work for you a standard pay first" Naomi finally answers after a few moments "I don't believe in handing out or receiving solutions so easily. I take the same approach when dealing with those under me at my own job. So having my vertigo fixed like this wouldn't feel right."

Rain lands and looks around for any other attackers her bow drawn as she takes a defense for the group.

Violet gasps, air filling her lungs before coughing violently. She looks to moon, "god... Moon..." she huffs, "you are so much important then me why did you go and do that..." she sighs and picks her up seeing how everyone seems to be leaving, "...thank you..." she sighs lifting her up over her shoulders and opens her wings.

(Moon)

Moon coughed but smiled a little "Couldn't......let you....die..." she whispered between coughs and gasps for air. Her body shivered and shook a little as she continued to cough violently, covering part of Violets clothes with blood and black dust.

"Shut up and relax..." she sighs, "i'll give you a mango or something once we get to safety..." she huffs looking down from the buildings ledge. She looks for a manhole or anything to get down underground.

(Moon)

"Hard..to....relax" she coughed violently "....when...you..fucked up your......insides...." Moon gasped quietly. She forced a smile on her face.

(Everyone)


The area was extremely dark, it was hard to make out the silhouettes in the shadows. You couldn't see any enemies. Only strange, metalic clicking sounds, that echoed all across the rooftops. It was hard to pin down the exact direction. The clicking seems to be coming from everywhere.


A few fresh drops of rain, fell down on your forehead and you heard a distant thunder, coming from the massive rain clouds above.


"There!" Tomas called, pointing towards the ground. A sewer hatch was visible there, in the middle of an empty road:
"Everyone, glide down after me" he called, lifting up Jane onto his shoulders: "If we follow the sewers, we'll eventually end up at the Labyrinth... come on.."


He unfolded his wings to full length and pushed himself off the roof. You could hear his haggard breath over the earpiece. He seems to be in pain.


As you land on the ground, the rain has started to pour again. The roads were running with water, as you opened the sewer hatch and jumped inside.
The metalic clicking was still heard from the darkness, above street level. It felt like every shadow was hiding a silhouette, staring at you, watching your every movement.



The sewer stench was foul. Some rain water had fallen through and now ran along your feet, as you moved down the rusty, mold infested tunnel.
The only source of light, was Tomas' combat flashlight, that loosely hung from his vest. With each of his step, the flashlight danced, spreading bizarre shadows across the tunnel.

It was quiet down here. No sound of cars or ambient noise from the city. Only the dripping of water, your own breath, and the distant squeaking of mice could be heard.



After walking for several minutes, Tomas stopped and looked to his right. There was a concrete double door there. Old as time itself. Sturdy, but no lock. A faded yellow sign above the door read:
'WARNING - CONSTRUCTION'.
The sign was so old and rusted, it seems as if it has been here for decades.



"...There.." Tomas quietly called: "...travel far enough below, and you'll find it. Every tunnel leads to the Labyrinth.

It started as a major housing project, some 50 years ago. A city, under a city. Hundreds of square meters, built underground. Natural caves, massive open spaces and man made tunnels. The Labyrinth is almost as large as the city above.


After a horrible plague has washed over the tunnels and Soren's economy crashed, the project was scrapped. Maps and schematics for the tunnels have slowly disappeared into time, rotting away and forgotten, buried in an archive somewhere... and the tunnels became just that... the Labyrinth.."



Tomas slightly shifted in place, looking at the door and squinting in the dim light:

"...dad used to tell me stories about this place... stories of ghosts, that still roam these tunnels, spirits of innocents, that were murdered, unjustly.. left to roam in the darkness forever, crying for justice...

Stories to scare children with..." Tomas paused a moment, then lifted his leg and kicked the doors hard.


A slight echo has spread across the tunnel and the concrete doors opened, revealing an unseen darkness beyond.

"...lets go" Tomas quietly called.

(The Hooded Figure)


As the cops began pilling out of the cars and amassing around the brick on the ground, the window before you shatters, revealing a very long and dark corridor.


As you enter and scan your surroundings, you notice a massive office complex before you. Countless corridors and small office work stations, separated by short walls and glass windows. Countless computers and desks. A flew impressive plants, for decoration.


The entire place was completely obscured by the darkness. It seems the whole building had lost electricity for some reason.

You don't see a soul in sight and the floor was eerily quiet.


Some 30 meters ahead, you spotted a section that was walled off from the rest of the place. The Executives Office, judging by the sign on the door.

For a brief moment, you thought you saw a light under the door. As you took a closer look however, the light faded.
















(Naomi)


"As you wish" the man said and ducked under the desk.

After a few moments, he pulled out a large traveling backpack and gently placed it on the table, in front of you.

"Here's the first job. Deliver this, to the address I'll give you. Handle the backpack with extreme care. The contents are very, very fragile."


The man took out a piece of paper and wrote down an address: "Deliver it within a reasonable time frame. Don't speed. We wouldn't want the cops to pull you over.

Once you reach the address, drop off the backpack by the dumpster. You'll see it.

After that, you'll get payed.

(Moon)

She looked around with a sense of both wonder and worry before breaking into a violent coughing fit. Being carried by Violet, she didn't really have to do much but look about. Though casting a light spell was tempting.

(Mist)

"I heard stories of this place as a kid and always wanted to come down to see it, but never got around to it. I'm surprised no one set up some sort of criminal empire down here or something." She then paused "Do you actually know the way Tomas?"

The Hooded Figure slowly floats silently through the office space, keeping close to one of the walls, constantly scanning for danger, as they make their way across to the executive office door and listen for any sound behind it.

(Radiance)
Radiance doesn't appear to be affected by the lack of light at all. Stepping with the same casual, now accented with a slight limp, mannerism he's known for carries the two mares in silence. His attention picking through the darkness to see if he can hear anything strange.


(Naomi)
Naomi took both the bag and note from the man. Nodding silently she headed back to her bike. As she secured the bag to the side of the bike, on the spot she normally placed her work bag, the mention of police sent a shiver up her spine. Pulling the seat up Naomi retrieved a full faced helmet from the small compartment underneath.

Naomi sat on the bike and checked over the note to see where the address leads too. Between the coat, riding gloves, and now fully black tinted helmet Naomi's appearance is completely covered. With a growl the bike's engine started and Naomi, internally debating if she was doing the right thing, headed towards the address

(Arnold)

"Yeah, I think so too. But, we need to keep him silent, otherwise he'll call for help."

Unaccosted to the dark, he walks slowly, moving carefully so when he stubs his toe, which happens a lot, he wouldn't fall. He looks for some source of light, to make sense of these halls.

"How much before he'll rat out his companions?"

(Angelo)

He followed the group, whispering to himself.

"The dark side of Soren, where those rejected by the light reside. I knew some day I would end up here."

He then looks up briefly. "How exactly did I get here?"

He then continues being dramatic. "Here we are, wandering these dank, wet halls, devoid of the sun's touch. Where the darkness freely moves."

(Oboro)

After being out of it for a moment, her eyes began to flutter. Weak moans and groans escaped her lips. Eventually, a sentence came out.

"Where... Am I dead?"

She then made a wincing noise, that forcibly shook her awake.
"No, shoulder, definitely alive..."

She looked around, seeing nothing. "Uh... What happened?"

Rain's eye now clearly glows lightly in the darkness, it was a soft colorless glow that seemed to be moving around constantly as she looks for anything resembling a person... So far only Mice and Rats dot her vision.

Violet sighs, "doin' alright back there moon?" she says worryed slightly, "you gonna be ok?"

(Moon)

She looked at Violet "Well....I tore apart bits of my inner organs.....and other bits...to heal you....not sure how I'm gonna be to be honest." Moon smiled.

(Radiance)
"Long story short, we barely made it out of there alive. Luckily no one is dead" Radiance answered Oboro
