Twilight wrote:"I want to know why too, there better be a good reason and evidence for it... Hard evidence... Else this is a case of "Crying Wolf" and my trust in your judgement goes down."
"I trust my comrades completely. And I've worked with Viki and Bastila for years." Ryu shortly replied "If they all thought it was prudent to initiate defensive actions, there must have been a good reason."
It was hard to read Ryu's expression and the tone of his voice through the blizzard, but for a moment, you thought you caught him briefly frowning at you, and a subtle tone of displeasure had momentarily seeped into his voice.
"We should have established a secure perimeter around the camp from the get go, truth be told." He added, his voice calm this time, as you entered the campsite, the large fire now put out and emitting long trails of hissing smoke.
"War never stops on this planet. The moment you let your guard down, is the moment somebody dies..." he looked away for some reason, and you could only see the back of his head, as he quietly whispered, barely audible, more to himself "...I thought you understood that."
He peeled off and went to sit on one knee next to Lightning, coating her tighter in her blankets and making sure she was sitting securely on her log. The girl still hasn't moved or said a word since you got here. Even with all the chaos around her, she seemed completely disconnected from the world around her, staring into space with an empty expression.
Ryu firmly took hold of her shoulder for a moment "...nothing will hurt you tonight." he whispered, before rising up and looking toward Rogue, Circi, Rain and Bastila, as they returned from the scouting run in the forest.
Rain wrote:"Hm... whoever it is, lets ensure he doesn't come back. Maybe he's going to get his friends or some shit." She scoffs, "I'll take a runner before anyone actually gets hurt though." She sighs, clicking on her heat vision and following bastilas gaze, before turning back and making her way to camp.
Rogue wrote:"Well I guess that's that, then" Rogue nods, "Guess all that's left is to find out all we can from the other travellers."
The civilians were all hidden from sight, inside the roofed wagons but a few brave, or drunk souls cautiously peaked their heads out from the wagon curtains and surveyed the area.
As Rain clicked on her heat vision, a mostly uniform, cold-white landscape came into view and remained largely the same, as you surveyed the area, making your way back to camp. Snow and brush, trees and small rock formations, all equally cold. There was no sign of that strange bubble void, created by the merchants Shield Sphere. He was either out of range, or too far away, concealed behind the forest of trees.
Ryu nodded to you, as you entered the campsite, then looked at everyone present:
"Alright, lets debrief. Lets pool all our knowledge and facts together, and see what we can deduce."
