"Twilight.." Fluttershy slowly sat on her knees next you and took a hold of your shoulder:
"...ponies have a tendency, to blame themselves for everything that's wrong in the world. We think that, everyone's looking only at us, and if something goes wrong, then its our fault.
But its not true.
We don't cause all the problems in the world. Sometimes, bad things just happen. Its not our fault. Its just life"
She sighed and tried to look you in the eyes:
"..Twilight listen to me. Regardless of whether you joined Bodewig or not, Logan Krauss would've still caused that crisis.
Regardless of whether you fell into a coma or not, Marek would've still used Slavegear. If you weren't there, then Marek would've just found another political figure and mind controlled him, instead of you. And the Slavegear attack would still happened.
And Equestria would still be blamed, because Councilor Mercer survived the attack. And the Union would still start tearing itself apart, because most of the Councilors were assassinated, and many countries had motive.
Marek planned this, all of this. For weeks, months. I don't know. What I do know is, it wasn't your fault.
No one in the world could anticipate the Slavegear attack, and that's why it happened.

She looked down and sighed:
"Twilight... Marek, didn't live a life like ours. I think, we are incapable of ever imagining it.
We were born into a civilized world, governed by laws and ethics and morality. We had a social structure. We were given a right of free speech, education, healthcare. The power to vote, the power to elect a leader of our country.
The right to serve in our military and protect those, who can't protect themselves.
We were given so many things, and we took them for granted. Because we were born into them. Because we never knew another life.
But there is another life, somewhere... that somewhere is called Nyx.
A place where people are born into dirt, and the first thing they learn is:
You are a Batpony. So you are a slave. He is not Batpony, therefore he is your Master.
You do what your Master tells you, or your get hurt. You get beat up. You go hungry.
You do what your Master said, or your parents will die. Friends will die. The person you love.. will die.
So you do as you're told. Because that's all you know. There's no other life for you.
You have no rights. No freedom. No education is provided to you. You must seek it on your own, in secret. No healthcare is taught or provided to you. You must learn it from your parents, if they even know. If they don't, you just helplessly watch as others suffer and die.
You have no leader to guide you and no military to protect you.
You live in dirt, you wear rags and work hard.
You have nothing, but your life, and your friends. And when your friend are taken away, what do you have?..."
Fluttershy slowly looked at you. Something grave reflected in her eyes:
"...this, is the world where Marek grew up. He watched the suffering of his people for fifty long years. He quietly suffered with them, until he grew wise enough to understand, things shouldn't be like this.
Why does he have to suffer, when others live in luxury? Why does he live in dirt, when others live in a palace? Why do so many people watch his suffering and do nothing?
We.. did nothing... Twilight.
Marek sees people like us, and thinks we are uncaring, selfish beings, deliberately diverting attention from the suffering of his people. Because they are nothing. Because they are dirty and disgusting and we don't like to see suffering, so we pretend not to notice. We coldly look away from the problem, pretending it isn't happening and changing the topic, every time its brought up in a conversation.
But Marek didn't look away. He kept watching us. He watched the suffering of his people for fifty years, and he watched the world do nothing.
And slowly... steadily... he began to hate us...
He doesn't see us as possible allies. He can't. No matter what we do.
We are the enemy to him. We are masters and he is a slave. That's what he has been taught. And that's why he acts like this.
That's why he wants the world to burn.
The world has turned him into this monster. And now, he's lashing out.
And he won't stop.. I don't think he can. He's too injured and hurt, too cynical and heartbroken, to believe there are still kind people left in the world. So he lashes out, at everyone who he doesn't consider a slave.
That's why.. Marek did what he did..."
Fluttershy looked down and sat for several moments in silence:
"...we scanned the time stamps on the video, from the Slavegear incident. The video starts when you're already standing inside the Slavegear control room. It doesn't show how you entered.
Marek probably had control of the cameras. And he turned them on, only after he left. That's why he's never seen in the video, and that's why no one suspected him"
