Slavegear - Part 3

Rain moves to the direction of the road, she looks around the front door from the roof looking for guards or any sign of life. Her stelleto still drawn as she looks above.

(Radiance)
"I think she's doing better but still is in a lot of pain" Radiance answered after a moment "I don't think that her, or any of will be over this until we catch Marek."

(Tarmikos)
Tarmikos nodded "I think I may go get some fresh air, reflect some. I do have one quick question for you, now that I'm essentially harmless, am I still required to have an escort? I understand that Catherin was concerned about me blowing up the place. But I really don't see the need for it now and the soldiers could be put to much better use."

From the turbulence, Twilight makes the crown fly, but barely saves it.

"Thank. Celestia."

She sits up. "She tries her best to keep us a unit, but it's denitely wearing her out. Maybe it's cruel, but once we meet her again at the base.... We gotta break her a bit, so she can properly let out the emotions..."

She looks at the crown. "Oh, right, the trigger mechanism. It's tied to me, so I can set it off, or it will go off if it gets too far from me. The blast is not too big, so we have to be careful."

(Rain, Wyvern, Moon)


The road appears to be empty of traffic. You can't seem to spot any cars on the horizon.

Directly below you, you notice a lone security guard, sitting in a small booth, just next to the main entrance to the radio station.
The booth looks cramped, barely enough for one person. The guard is leaning back in his chair, some kind of magazine over his face. He appears to be fast asleep.


Apart from him, you don't notice anyone else, but you can vividly hear muffled voices, coming from the windows of the radio station. It appears there are at least a dozen people inside the building.















(Twilight, Radiance)


"Okay" Elisabeth nodded after a moment: "..looks like we're here.." He looked out the window, just as the helicopter tilted, coming to a stop in mid air. After a moment, it began a slow descent, until its wheels touched the ground. Johan emitted a sigh of relief and unbuckled his seatbelt.

"Come on" Elisabeth waved: "Its a bit of a walk through the city" She slid open the door and a completely foreign town popped into view.


The architecture and exterior design was noticeably different from Nyx or Equestria. Everything seemed a little more gothic here. Massive buildings of stone, loomed over the streets, creating a slightly eerie atmosphere, in the twilight of the rain clouds above.

The helicopter seemed to have touched down in an empty parking lot, just on the edge of the city. For some reason, no street lights were working here and barely any soul was in sight.

The helicopter waited a few more moments, until everyone came off board, then quickly ascended again and darted toward the cover of clouds.



"This way" Elisabeth waved: "Please watch your surroundings.. and check your pockets. The country of Rhea is a little high on crime rate this year.."

(Tarmikos)


Riza looked away, squinting at the corner of the room. Judging by her expression, its clear she hoped to avoid this topic:

"...Tarmikos... I'm afraid.." she slowly sighed. It seems she's trying to choose her words carefully:

"I'm afraid.. the security escort wasn't placed only to prevent a.. magical accident... It seems Councilor Mercer and a few other officers from this base, have gone over the security footage from the mansion...



Our base here is considered a black ops unit, essentially operating outside of international law. Even so, Councilor Mercer firmly believes in a code of conduct and certain aspects of bending the rules, even she can't bring herself to overlook.. she is an ex-military general after all..."


Riza looked at you. Her expression grim: "...there's no point in hiding it, you would've found out yourself, sooner or later.
Tarmikos. It seems the Councilor and the other officers on the base have convened and deemed the mansion camera footage, damning enough to press charges, under international Union laws.


After the crisis with Marek is over, she will be handing you over to the Union police, to await trial in the international court. Until then, the staff has been instructed to consider you a suspect in a crime and a team of two guards will be escorting you at all times.

I'm sorry.."

(Radiance)
Radiance chuckled softly "I'll be sure to keep a close eye on my pocket lint"

(Tarmikos)
"I...understand." Tarmikos finally responded after a long pause "well, since I'm going to be stuck at this base, and coming to the medical wing pretty regularly in the foreseeable future. Is there anything I can do to help you here?"

Rain frowns beneath her mask. Letting out a small sigh, "lazy ass..." she looks back at her companions, "well... We are in the clear for for guards... Unless you think we should knock him out... I get this sinking feeling that he'll wake up once we turn the power off." she says, "i hear a lot of banter as well... We should avoid everyone but the targets if possible."

Kaylee nodded: "Lets fly down, knock out the guard real quick. The EMP will create a lot of noice, its best if he's knocked out at the time"

She approached the edge of the roof and looked down:
"I'll watch your back"

She looked at Wyvern and Moon: "Get ready to set off the EMP bomb. We'll enter the building through the hatch after that" she pointed at a small metal hatch, a few meters away.
















(Radiance, Twilight)

Elisabeth began making her way through the narrow streets of the city. Johan quietly trailing behind.
It was quiet here, even when a few open shops began to pop up and small groups of pedestrians were seen on the street.
The usual ambient noise of the city, was absent. Everyone you passed seemed strangely quiet, no one raised their voice. The sound of running water from the drain pipes of the building, was the only thing that broke the silence.

The massive buildings of stone and the gray clouds above, created a strange gloomy atmosphere. In this gloom, a muffled laughter of kids slightly echoed across the street and a small group of children walked by you. One of them bumped into Radiance, looked up at him and smiled: "Bone Ziuah" the child said in his native language and continued to walk down the street with his friends.

"Not far now" Elisabeth called, pointing further down the street. The silence of the street was briefly interrupted by a small helicopter passing overhead. The helicopter looked civilian. It flew high over the buildings and vanished from view. The sound of its engines faded.

"Twilight" Elisabeth called: "You should hide the Tiara back in the briefcase. We're almost at the exchange point"

(Tarmikos)

"...uuummm" Riza looked around the medical room, thinking: "Do you know first aid? Any experience with wound dressing?"

Rain flys down and slowky moves into the small room. In one swift movement her hand goes over the guards mouth, she removes his radio and locks him in a choak hold, bringing him to the ground as she choaks him out "shhh..." she hushes him her muscles tightening around his neck, her hand still over his mouth.

"Got it... Snake..." Lord Wyvern chuckles and moves over to the antenna to examine it.

"Right, guess the last touches can be done from a distance."

She hides the tiara in it's previous container, as she seems to do one more thing to it.

"I hope they don't have any detectors for this."

(Radiance)
Even though his pockets were empty Radiance checks them anyway.

"I'd give it a 50/50 chance. She's either arrogant and doesn't think anyone would try something like that or paranoid and has more security than the Union Council in lockdown."

(Tarmikos)
Tarmikos shakes his head "I can recognize wounds and how bad they are, but I know nothing about treating them. I could always just keep the place clean and the machinery in top working order."

Moon followed Wyvern and tilted her head, looking at the device curiously. "I'll keep a look out for anyone nosy" she mumbled and scanned the area around her, her ears and nose alert.

(Rain)


The guard began flailing around, then slowly went numb. His eyes closed. His breath slowed. He's fallen unconscious.

The journal that was on his face earlier, was send flying across the room and hit the booths window with a muffled thud. As you look around however, everything seems to be quiet. The voices inside the radio station weren't raised. From what you can tell, no one has heard the commotion.


From the guards booth, you can see the main entrance to the radio station. A set of glass double doors. You can see the main lobby inside. A few people in formal clothing seem to be talking to each other there. They're not looking in your direction at the moment. It seems they haven't notice you yet.


The area outside of the station is largely obscured by darkness. The only source of light is coming from through the glass windows of the main entrance. The guards booth is mostly obscured in shadow.


Up on the roof, you notice Kaylee subtly waving you to come up.














(Moon, Wyvern)

The area around the roof seems mostly quiet. The only sounds you hear are the muffled voices, coming from somewhere below. You smell the faint scent of cigarette smoke. It appears someone is smoking next to a window, on one of the floors below.

The roof itself seems empty of activity.


As you look at the antenna, it appears to be a very tall, old and minimalistic structure. Judging by the rust, it was built a good few dozen years ago.


Penny moved closer to you and quietly whispered: "Okay, set off the bomb when you're ready"


























(Radiance, Twilight)


You notice that two of Radiance's pockets have been cut open at the bottom, by a very thin object. The kids you saw earlier, have promptly faded from view.


"Ms. Ealhhere hid her identity well" Elisabeth said, as she continued down the street: "They're more likely to check for the Tiara's authenticity, than a tracking spell. But, you never know. Please stay on your gua-"

She flinched as an extremely loud, metallic noise suddenly echoed across the street. As you look toward the source of the noise, you notice a flipped over trash can, a few meters away.


"S-sorry.." Johan quietly mumbled: "..that was me.." his ears fell, pressed hard against his head and he visibly shrunk in size, blushing from shame.

"...this way" Elisabeth waved after a moment and stepped into one of the narrow alleys nearby. She continued to walk for a few more moments, until you've arrived at a small clearing, between two insanely tall buildings.

This alley was extremely cramped. No windows faced this side of the street. The place was completely deserted, save for a few rats, digging through the trashcan nearby.


Elisabeth made an unsure step forward and a dark silhouette drifted into view from the shadows. A tall man, hidden behind a large hat and a trench coat.


He looks at you with recognition and nods. He seems to be waiting for something.

(Tarmikos)


"Very good" Riza nodded: "Stick with Fluttershy, help her take inventory. We need to know what medical supplies are in stock and what we are missing. Also help her check the expiration dates on medication, stuff like that. She'll tell you what else you can do.
I appreciate the help. We are a little shorthanded here."


Fluttershy seems to be hanging around one of the medical machines in the room. She's holding a large clipboard and writing something on it intently.

"What's the blast radius going to be?" Lord Wyvern asks as he places the bomb down by the antenna.

(Moon, Wyvern)

"About 500 meters I think" Penny said, thinking: "Everything electronic within that radius, will stop working...
The bomb won't actually explode, you can stand right next to it, its perfectly harmless to us. It will just emit an electro magnetic pulse, that will burn out everything electrical. We won't be harmed in any way"

"I know that" Lord Wyvern says "I just wanted to know how much of the building we'd take out."

"All of it, without a doubt" Penny nodded: "Activate the EMP, whenever you're ready"

Twilight puts a hand on Elisabeth's shoulder.

"Let me go. You weren't part of the group hired for this mission. Stay in the back and warn us for anything suspicious, if possible."

(Radiance)
Radiance reached out listening to the immediate area. Searching for the sounds weaponry made when rubbing against clothing or armor, the slight shifting of arrows or bolts, the soft chanting of someone preparing a larger spell.

"I'll stay back here with Elisabeth, if I hear anything I'll let you know"

(Tarmikos)
Tarmikos nodded then made his way over to Fluttershy. He stopped and started looking the machine over as he waited for Fluttershy to finish her thought.

(Twilight, Radiance)

"Okay" Elisabeth nodded and looked at Twilight: "Please be careful.. If you get injured on my watch, Kaylee's gonna kill me.." she attempted to smile but it quickly faded, as the gravity of the upcoming mission fell on her again.






(Radiance)


As you begin to listen to the immediate area, the ambient noise comes through a little more clear. Most of the sounds were drowned by the loud splashing of water, running out of the nearby drain pipes.

You hear Johan nervously fidgeting to your left.

Elisabeth stood slightly in front. You heard her exhale and shuffle her feet, before she completely faded from your senses again.


As you continue to listen, you hear the pony in the trench coat, that showed up a few moments ago. He appears to be standing a few meters away, mostly unmoving. You heard the rustling of metal against leather, coming from his direction.
He's armed. The weapons concealed under the trench coat.

Apart from him, you're not picking up anyone else in the vicinity, though the loud splashing of water, coming from the drain pipes, is making it hard to differentiate between sounds.

Not knowing what's gonna happen, Twilight steps towards the man in the trenchcoat. Eventually, she stops a slight distance away, ready to act.

"Good evening, sir."

(Twilight, Radiance)


The figure nodded: "Lets make this quick. You have the package?"

His voice was extremely raspy. He's looking at you, a little hunched over. One of his hands is in his pocket. The other hand is holding some sort of metal case.
