(Everyone)
The atmosphere of imminent battle began to slowly saturate your surroundings, as you awaited the zero hour. Everyone seemed a little on edge, growing a lot more quiet and withdrawn as time flew by. A small tremor in their hands, revealing their feelings.
Attempting to pass the time, you scavenge a small box TV that no one was using and tried to absentmindedly go through its channels.
After about the 15th channel you switched, you saw a familiar face on the screen. A middle ages sea pony, dressed in a formal suit and shivering from the cold, as the snow swirled and fell all around her.
You turn up the volume and try to listen in, blocking off the sounds of the ships engines and its creaking decks.
"........-Mira Lerner, live from Equestria, UNN news.
We are standing just on the shore of the Verrian Ocean, some 200 kilometers north of the port of Renee. And as you can see behind me, this region of Equestria is experiencing freak weather.
The temperatures have dropped by 30 degrees celsius in just a few hours. Heavy snowfall has plagued this region, shutting down roads and public transportation.
The same freak weather is being reported in 8 other countries across the globe."
Mira covered her ears momentarily, as a fierce gust of wind blew by. She was standing on a snow covered shoreline. The waves of the ocean were unnaturally still, covered by a thin layer of ice.
Up above, a massive storm was brewing in the sky. Heavy snow clouds obscured the horizon.
Mira looked behind her and spoke into the microphone:
"If you look behind me, you can see an eye in the storm. The clouds seem to be swirling around it and growing in size, though the storm hasn't moved so far and remained fixed in its location.
We tried getting closer, but it seems the military has fenced off the area in a 50 kilometer radius and they're not letting anyone through. We tried getting a comment from them, but they have declined. It seems this information has been classified at this time, in order to maintain global security.
At this moment, I cannot definitively say what's happening behind that fence, at the center of the storm, however many in the science community are speculating that the closer you get to these storms, the more intense become the symptoms of mental breakdowns and loss of magic.
We will keep you informed, as this story develops."
Mira paused, as someone off camera came into the shot and passed her a winter coat. Mira rapidly put it on, before grabbing her mic again and returning to look at the camera:
"At this time, the Equestrian region still remains the only safe haven, with no mental breakdowns or loss of magic.
The unicorns who enter this region report to have their magic returning in a matter of hours. The psychological state of the mental breakdown victims has also improved, once they entered this area.
The influx of refugees traveling to Equestria has dramatically increased in the past week, with the Equestrian emergency services struggling to find a safe shelter for everyone.
Last night, the Soren government has transferred the inmates of its maximum security prison, from Adelheid, to a similar prison in Equestria, in hopes to maintain their health condition. Their plane is expected to land in Equestria in the next few hours.
In other news, the country of Themis discovered 50 new species of fish in the past week, in its ocean waters. Most of the fish were found dead, washed on the Themis shores. A closer look at their anatomy showed that they were not suited for our climate or the chemical composition of our water.
Where these new species suddenly came from, is unknown at this t----tttttttttttttttttttt"
The sound began lagging and broke into static, before the screen shut down displaying an error message of no signal.
