"
Steady.." Alyx quietly said, his voice concentrated and tense: "
Just a few more seconds.. don't fire before its fully charged"
As he spoke, the air in your palm already began to ignite and spin around an invisible axis. It looked like a tiny tornado of fire, that was beginning to form at your fingertips, pulsing with power and slowly beginning a chain reaction, as it consumed more and more oxygen from the air.
From such a high vantage point in the air, you could just make out Kaznachey's heels, as he stormed off into the forest and disappeared behind the trees. It seems he's intent on leaving the battlefield as quickly as his legs carried him.
Radiance wrote:Radiance throws his weapon at Bobby
Just like before, the weapon bounced clean off the creatures spikes, emitting a long, metalic ringing sound. Your weapon flew off to the side, doing a few haphazard spins in the air, before dissipating, as it strayed too far from you. You don't notice any significant damage on the creature.
(Bobby suffered -1 HP)
Radiance wrote:Setting Johan at the top of the hill and out of sight Radiance immediately takes off again and flies back into the fight.
"..-I'm alive" Johan tried to protest, breaking into a coughing fit, as you set him atop the hill. He clearly inhaled some smoke and as you left for the battlefield, you could still hear him clumsily sit up on the hill and try to get his bearings.
Johan was grasping at his chest with one hand and covering his mouth with the other, as he continued to cough and watch the events from a distance. His clothes and hair were notably singed, face covered in soot.
The burn marks on his body were quickly regenerating. He closed his eyes, as the scene of the broken, partially burning cottage flashed before his eyes.
He grimaced, contorted. An old, painful memory could've been making itself known again, associated with the fires he just witnessed.
Still keeping his eyes closed, his left hand stopped gripping his chest and drew a symbol in front of him. A haze of blue lights started dancing over his body, accelerating the healing process.
(Johan healed himself for +5 HP, total 6 HP remaining)
Radiance wrote:Internally: "Johan was no question but do you think we should save Ciri? Or let one of the others?"
"
She's still alive! Focus on the parasite!" Echo yelled, trying to be heard over the racket of battle.
Rogue wrote:"Or... If you can't destroy the bunker, you destroy the foundations. We can't touch Bobby, but we can touch the ground he's standing on! Guys, we need to use area of effect spells on the land beneath his feet!"
"No good, it will take an hour to prepare!" Kaylee called over the chaos.
Ursula grimaced, watching the spiked ball in the distance: "..we should've set up some pentagrams before going into the tomb"
"No use thinking about it now, we need to find a way to flip this thing on its back" Kaylee called. She was still standing behind the wall, next to the window, another ball of light already forming in her hand.
The hedgehog slowly stopped moving and went quiet. It seems it managed to put out the fires on its face, but now that it was done, it decided to curl up even more, leaving absolutely no visible breach in its spiked armor.
For a second, you even thought you saw some lights dancing under its body, but nothing happened right away.
Kaylee's eyes widened slightly: "...that thing might be planning to sit still, until its blindness wears off! We need to do something now, before it cooks another instant death spell"
Circi wrote:"I used tendons grasp! It holds the thing in place if we let this thing move we are going to have way more trouble then we would like, unleash your most powerful spells!"
The dark tendons that sprung from the ground earlier, began to wither and die, until they turned to ash entirely.
The hedgehog didn't move however and remained curled up with its spikes pointed in every direction.
A very faint light is seen to be emanating from under its body.
Rain wrote:she casts fireball at the beast, keeping her distance from the thing she looks for a way underneath it, searching for openings under the scales.
The fireball flew at the beast and detonated, the explosion dispersing around the entire back of the creature. You get a sinking feeling that the effect was supposed to be much larger than what you have witnessed. The giant spikes must really be working as a natural layer of armor.
(Bobby suffered -3 HP)
As you look for any opening under the spikes, you can't seem to spot anything too big. The snowy ground that the creature was sitting on, was more or less even. The tiny openings between its spikes and the ground were sometimes no more than 1 to 5 centimeters high and the creatures slight shuffling made sure that no opening stayed in sight for more than a few seconds.
From her corner, Ursula began drawing a complex pentagram in the air, using both of her hands. You recognized the design with some effort. She was cooking a Poison Status Effect.
The two merchants that stayed hidden in the kitchen until now, were intently watching the hedgehog. Both of them were in the process of preparing some king of spell. Their hands danced through the air rather quickly, too fast to identify what their were casting.
Blue and yellow lights danced over their fingertips. Whatever they're doing, they seem to be still in the process of it.
(Bobby is still afflicted with the Blindness status effect. 4 turns remaining)
