Slavegear - Part 4

Moon reached for her sword as magic curled around her. She stared down at the jeep, ready to attack.

"Kaylee..."

She looked down as well...

"I don't blame you. Yeah, I was hurt by them, but I was pretty tactless with leaving you all behind like that. No excuse, no thanks, I just walked away... You had rights to be angry. To be honest, when the news was told you guys might've been dead, I froze, nothing really registered. And when I saw Slavegear... I snapped. Because what I thought they did to you. It was not pretty, even if I couldn't see it."

She then hears the announcement. "Seems we have to continue this later, let's go!"

She jumps out of the plane, dropping gracelessly. She wanted to get to one of the helicopters ASAP.

~Just need to bust the blades~

She prepares some energy, and fires an ice spike at them.

Kaylee Brown wrote:"MOVE OUT, NOW! DON'T LET ANYONE LEAVE THE LAB! STOP THE CAR AND DON'T LET THE HELICOPTERS TAKE OFF!!! BLOW THEM UP IF YOU HAVE TO!! NO ONE MUST BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE WITH A CANISTER!!!"


She moved to the door and violently slid it open. Fierce winds rushed inside the chopper, as it began hovering hundreds of meters above ground:

"GO GO GO!" Mercer yelled over the raging winds: "THOSE WHO CAN FLY, GRAB THOSE WHO CAN'T AND DESCEND UPON THE TARGETS!!!"

As she yelled, one of the helicopters on the ground began taking off. The second chopper was still warming its engines.
The jeep was driving further and further away from the area, bouncing over the low hills of the area.

"But remember to try and check that they're Raiden first" Wyvern adds "Last thing we want to do is to take out a prisoner that managed to escape or something." He then tries to grab the jeep in a holding spell and pull it back.

"Okay!" Johan called, taking Wyvern and rapidly gliding toward the jeep.

The holding spell took effect but it wasn't enough to fully stop the car from advancing. The massive car was thrust forward by all four wheels at the same time and it continued to push its way through the hills, but at a slower pace now.


Kaylee took Moon and descended toward the jeep as well.


As Johan and Kaylee flew closer to the vehicle, you could see the silhouettes of four batponies inside.
They were visibly on edge, squeezing everything they could out of the cars engine. The two at the back seat, drew out katana blades and stared at you, threatening you not to get close.


Kaylee signaled Johan and they split up, each hovering on the opposite side of the car and matching its speed.

"How do we do this?" Kaylee called over the racket. The raging winds hitting you mercilessly over the face, as Kaylee cut her way through the air, carrying Moon. Johan, carrying Wyvern.







As Twilight discharged the ice spikes toward the helicopters, the projectiles audibly smashed over the aircraft's blades, the spikes shattering into millions of pieces.

No visible damage could be seen, but the helicopter that already took off, suddenly banked to one side and almost lost control. The pilot inside could be seen feverishly hammering the controls, trying to prevent the machine from smashing nose first into the ground.


The second helicopter continued to stay on the ground, spinning its engines. Its pilot and the crew inside seem to be loudly talking, trying to decide on a course of action.



"KEEP HITTING THEM!" Harlequin called to Twilight over the earpiece radio.

The next second, Harlequin took Tarmikos and descended toward the ground like a hawk, getting ready to strike.

Seconds before hitting the ground, she pulled a sharp stop and dropped Tarmikos off, next to the hole in the roof, where Omega had disappeared a moment ago.


"MASKS ON!" Harlequin called over the radio: "EVERYONE, MASKS ON! THE BUILDINGS INTERIOR COULD BE CONTAMINATED WITH THE VIRUS!"




As Omega landed inside the building, he found himself in a deserted corridor. The lights were out and the area was shrouded in shadows.

No furniture or people could be seen in the immediate area, only a corridor stretching in both directions.

As you look at the walls however, you noticed a long smear of blood. Dried, fairly old. This happened several hours ago.
A number of scratches and cuts on the walls and floor, indicated a fierce sword fight, but no bodies were seen, so far.

"Get me onto the roof. If someone can get a door open I'll jump in, cause a little chaos." She shouted, trying to be heard over the wind.

Kaylee Brown wrote:"Okay!" Johan called, taking Wyvern and rapidly gliding toward the jeep.

"How do we do this?" Kaylee called over the racket. The raging winds hitting you mercilessly over the face, as Kaylee cut her way through the air, carrying Moon. Johan, carrying Wyvern.

"I'll disable the vehicle, you be ready to jump them when they're distracted" Wyvern says, launching a flurry of ice shards into the ground in front of the car to pop its tyres "I'd like to see them try to carry those canisters on foot..."

"NO NEED TO TELL ME TWICE!"

Spinning in midair, she fires both shards of ice and bolts of fire at both in rapid succession to destabilize them more.

(Omega)
"Building appears to be deserted" Omega informed the group the radio. His mask already put on before jumping down. He then focused on the blood absorbing the scent in order to determine in which direction the blood was "freshest" and to determine if the blood was from a single species or a mix of two


(Tarmikos)
Tarmikos made his way over to the edge of the roof in order to get a clear line of sight at the helicopter still on the ground. A set of red-orange orbs of fire materialized in front of his hand, then were launched in rapid succession at the grounded vehicle. Half the attack aimed at the cockpit and the other at the tail.

As soon as the attack hit Tarmikos began to refocus on charging the attack again.

(Radiance)
Radiance took a moment to take in the battlefield. Scanning for any signs of counter attack heading towards their own helicopters.

Rain. Chases down the jeep and lands on it with a thump. She draws an arrow back, "shoot to kill..." she takes a deep breath and releases it point blank through the roof on the drivers side.

(Wyvern, Rain, Moon)


The arrow loudly pierced the roof of the vehicle and you heard a muffle shout. The vehicle began making haphazard turns, wildly jerking left and right.

The next second its front tires violently popped, punctured by a flurry of ice shards.

The jeeps nose smashed into the ground and the car flipping over itself and crashed onto its roof with a deafening racket, just barely missing Rain as it fell.


The windows shattered and the car continued to burrow through the ground for a few more seconds, propelled by momentum, before it finally stopped. Its wheels still spinning, as it laid on its broken roof.

You notice some faint activity inside. It appears the passengers were severely stunned by the crash.


Kaylee landed some distance away, placing Moon on the ground.

Johan placed Wyvern on the ground on the opposite side of the car.






(Twilight, Radiance, Tarmikos)


The enemy helicopter that was flying above ground, emitted a series of metalic cracks, as fire and ice violently impacted its blades.

The metal began rapidly cooling down, then suddenly shattered as the fireballs hit, and the rotor blades of the top engine exploded into a rain of frozen shards.
Without its upper blades, the helicopter only managed to level itself with the ground, before it fell out of the sky and loudly crashed into the earth.

Its pilot and occupants visibly felt the weight of the impact. Some of them fell to the floor.




The second helicopter abandoned all attempts at taking off. One of its passenger doors slid open and its passengers began popping out, using the massive machine for cover, as fireballs began striking the cockpit and its tail.

As the attack hit, no visible damage was done to the cockpit, but the blades on its tail began turning red and suddenly fell off the carcass.
The next second, the top rotor blades shattered as well, as Twilights attack hit.


Without the ability to take off, the pilot began making his way to the back of the helicopter and popped out of it as well, taking cover behind it with the rest of his team.

From this angle, they seem to be completely hidden from view, from Tarmikos.

They all drew blades and unfolded their wings, talking among themselves and staying behind cover.










(Omega)

As you attempt to take in the scent, you only pick up the smell of clean rubber. It appears the bio-hazard suit is completely isolated from the outside environment, preventing any smells or pathogens from coming through.

The tunnel appears to be dimly lit, the only source of light is the hole in the ceiling. As you look at the blood mark again, it seems to be a single smear. You can't seem to tell if it belonged to a single person or more.

Harlequin silently jumped through the hole and landed in the corridor a few moments later, holding a short blade at the ready.
She rapidly scanned the environment and began slowly and silently walking down one of the corridors directions:



"..please refrain from hasty conclusions. There are three floors in the building, possibly a basement. We can't determine with certainty that it is abandoned, until we've scanned every inch of this place. Inaccurate intelligence may lead to death.."


She clicked her earpiece, while still advancing down the corridor: "HQ, I'm beginning a sweep of the building"


As you look in both directions of the corridor, one is so poorly lit, you can't see what's located at its end. Harlequin seems to be headed that way. After a moment, she silently stepped into the shadows, almost completely fading from view, before she continued her advance.

On the opposite side of the corridor, you notice an open doorway, about 15 meters away. The room beyond is completely dark.

Rain quickly gets up,moveing to the jeep, she pulls. A door open, she holds her bow back, she examins the ponies inside.

(Wyvern, Rain, Moon)


As you examine the car, there appears to be four passengers inside, either passed out or injured.

One of them looks at Rain, through a haze, hanging upside down from a seat belt. He began reaching for his knife, secured onto his shoulder.

Moon approached the door of the truck and and grabbed his seatbelt before tugging it away, keeping her sword drawn. She looked around frantically for the canister.

Twilight lands on the ground, and pulls out her wand. She looks at the place she last saw them hide.

~There, those two are down. Better catch my breath before bringing out the big guns.~

(Omega)
"An opening observation and not a conclusion," Omega said then proceeded to start his own search of the area. The darkened room drawing his attention he shifted to a defensive stance and started advancing his way towards the doorway.

(Tarmikos)
Tarmikos shifted his attention to the already downed helicopter taking a moment to search for any crack in its armor. another set of fireballs starting to materialize.

(Radiance)
Radiance flew to a higher elevation directly above where the enemy soldiers were taking cover.

Rain moves beside moon and quickly disarms the pony who had the knife, "not today buddy... Moon focus on getting them out... Im opening the back of the vehicle..." she moves around the jeep and finds a rather large rock nearby... She throws it at the tail window of the vehicle shattering it. She lays down and looks through it, looking for the canister or vile... Or anything for that matter.

(Wyvern, Moon, Rain)

The man fell out of his seat, as the belt was tugged away. He seems to be completely stunned.
As you examine the car you notice a small cylindrical object on the floor, vaguely resembling a tea thermos.

A moment later you heard a screeching noise, as the driver pushed the broken door open and stumbled out of the car.

He began stumbling away from the vehicle. You notice him clutching another cylindrical object in his arms.








(Twilight, Radiance, Tarmikos)

As you look at the grounded helicopter, its carcass seems mostly intact, minus the rotor blades.
A second later, 7 distinct shadows darted out of cover and dispersed, flying at a dizzying speed and heading in different directions.

One of them headed straight toward Twilight. Another one towards Tarmikos and a third one for Radiance.
The blades in their arms slightly reflecting the sunlight.

They flew toward their targets so quickly, they seemed only a blur of motion, rapidly zig-zagging through the air and getting close at a frightening speed.


The remaining four shadows dispersed and flew away from the battlefield, heading in different directions.


No activity could be seen from the second chopper. It seems its doors were stuck and bent out of shape, its occupants unable to exit.











(Omega)

All seemed quiet as you advance toward the doorway. Only muffled explosions from outside the building could be heard.
The ceiling was relatively tall here, only darkness could be seen through the open doorway.

After a moment, you heard Harlequins voice in your earpiece:
"Omega I'm pulling out of the building. Its too risky wandering in here alone"

(Omega)
"Do you think outside will be any safer?" Omega asks staring intently into the darkness. His body twitching to charge in only held back by that mild pull of common sense and Harlequins cautious behavior.

(Radiance)
Radiance cracked his knuckles then turned and accelerated heading up vertically. Daring his attacker to give chase.

(Tarmikos)
With as good an estimate he could make in the short time given Tarmikos launched the newly formed fireballs in the direction of his attacker in a shotgun like pattern. The fireballs splitting apart as they grew closer.

"What do we do with the cylinder?" She asked, letting Tarmikos deal with the other one. "Any ideas?"

Rain walks up to the driver, "just.... Stop" she grabs his shoulder and spins him around, snatching the cylinder from his arms


She suddenly sees the ponys on the other side shoot off. Her wings shoot open and she places the canister in front of Moon, "watch this children wont yea? I they get riled up just beat em... That'll shut em up... As for the cylinders, uhm... Just make sure they cant touch their toys. " she shoots into the air after one of them, her feathered wings picking up speed and she flys by twilight, kaylee, pand the bunch at an alarming pace.

"No time to waste."

She spins the wands, then aims it at the charging pony. She charges it with her own magic, hoping to increase the potency. She then fires at it.

(Moon, Wyvern)

Johan was standing close to the jeep, you can see him crouch down and go for his first aid kit, strapped to his belt. He seems to be assessing the passengers' health.

Kaylee crouched down and pulled one of the canisters from the car, then looked at its occupants and slightly turned pale.
She reached for her radio and called:

"Everyone be adviced! It seems every hostile agent is carrying at least one canister on him! If even a single one escapes, it will be over!... you gotta be kidding me-"

The cars driver that had stumbled out of the car earlier and had his canister taken by Rain, was now holding a long knife in his hand and slowly advancing toward Wyvern and Moon.
He seems dazed, but his grip on the knife is firm.

"Knock him out!" Kaylee called.

"Brother please!" Johan called him as well: "Stop! Don't do this-"
But the hostile agent simply pushed Johan aside and continued his advance.










(Rain Runner)

The hostile agent seems to have noticed you chasing him. He increased speed, almost matching yours and maintaining a fair distance between you.

Then he suddenly spinned around and hurled a long knife in your direction, before turning and continuing his escape.

Kaylee's voice suddenly rang in your earpiece:
"Everyone be adviced! It seems every hostile agent is carrying at least one canister on him! If even a single one escapes, it will be over!"














(Twilight, Radiance, Tarmikos)

The hostile charging at Twilight suddenly zoomed high into the air, dodging the spell, then immediately darted toward Twilight, drop kicking her several meters backwards.
He moved with frightening speed, each motion precise and calculated. You notice a katana in his hand, as he charged toward Twilight again.


The man charging at Tarmikos, made a sharp dive. The fireballs missed him completely.
The next second he crashed into Tarmikos, kicking him hard in the chest.
A katana was visible in his hand, as the hostile hovered over Tarmikos and prepared to strike.




The third hostile watched Radiance for a split second, then immediately turned and darted away from the battlefield, flying away from everyone at a frightening speed.



Kaylee's voice rang in the radios a moment later:
"Everyone be adviced! It seems every hostile agent is carrying at least one canister on him! If even a single one escapes, it will be over!"



















(Omega)

"We will be able to see our opponents outside" Harlequin said, climbing outside through the hole again:

"I'm not looking forward to wandering these halls alone and getting ambushed in the dark"


Kaylee's voice rang in your earpiece a moment later:
"Everyone be adviced! It seems every hostile agent is carrying at least one canister on him! If even a single one escapes, it will be over!"

(Radiance)
Radiance flipped around now giving chase to the fleeing opponent. A small spark of exhilaration pumping through his body as he willed his body to give into the the chase, throwing his all into catching his target.

"In pursuit of target," Radiance spoke over the radio

(Omega)
Walking backward as to not suddenly be jumped from the room Omega made his way back to the hole and climbed out. He watched the battle for a brief moment, then noticing the two attackers closing in on Twilight and Tarmikos let out a growl and charged them.

(Tarmikos)
Tarmikos gritted his teeth feeling once again the taste of blood in his mouth. It was almost turning laughable how much blood he had lost since waking up in that hospital. But now was not the time or place to be searching for such humor. With a jolt of pain Tarmikos drew on his magic, earlier than he should have, sending out a cone of fire point blank into the bat pony.

"Burn you fuck!"

She swiftly dodges the knife, apon hearing this information she draws back her bow and fires off an arrow, aiming for vital parts of his body.
"Your not going anywhere fucker!" she pulls another arow but this time holding her breath... She slows down significantly, she needed to take this one down now... She draws back thearrow and aims above him. She fires it off and continues to fly after the escapee.

(Radiance)

The man was fast, cutting through the air like a missile. He seems to be almost matching your speed, maintaining a fixed distance between you.
About 500 meters ahead, you notice the grassy plains end, replaced by a thick forest. The batpony seems to be heading toward it.







(Omega, Tarmikos)

The batpony became completely engulfed in flame, as the attack hit, setting his clothes on fire.

With a blood chilling scream, he crashed on top of Tarmikos, the flames starting to spread to the unicorns clothes as well.









(Rain Runner)

The first arrow missed, as the man jerked to the side at the last second. He seems to be keeping an eye on your movement, as he continued his escape.

At that moment, Councilor Mercer's helicopter made a quick pass overhead, distracting the man for only a moment.

And the second arrow hit.


The man emitted a piercing shriek, before his wings folded and he began falling toward the ground.
