Harelquin smiled, at least you think she does, her voice was polite and friendly:
"..Tomas" she stretched out her hand and Tomas awkwardly shook it.

"I believe each person should be judged by his merits, not lineage. If you are willing, we'd like you to come back to Nyx.
Your homeland needs you. We could use your help"


Tomas released a shy smile: "..well this is awkward. I wasn't expecting this" he rubbed the back of his neck:
"This is the second job offer I've received today"

He looked in the direction where Twilight and Oboro were sitting, then looked back and smiled at Rain and Harlequin:
"..if its alright, I would like to take some time, before I make my decision. Something tells me I'll have a lot of time to think..." he looked at the Union soldiers gathered outside.



Around the same time, Harlequin got a call on her earpiece. She quietly listened, then nodded:
"...I see"

She looked at Rain and Kaylee: "If I could ask for your help. Captain Brown, its my understanding you wanted to be present for this?.."


"..Its time huh.." Kaylee looked down: "..shit..." she sighted, sending a hand through her hair: "Alright, come on"



Half a dozen police officers slowly walked into the tent. They didn't say anything, only politely waited.

"That's for us" Tomas smiled to everyone. He, Clopin, Sophie and Audrey slowly stood up and walked towards the police.

"..this.. feels wrong" Kaylee quietly said aloud.

"We did take hostages" Tomas smiled: "Even if it was all pretend. There's concequences for doing that"

"I'll make sure your story's told" Kaylee said with determination: "I'll fight to reduce your sentence as much as possible"

"Its the way it has to be" Sophie quietly said: "We did our best. And the Waltz has fallen. Its all we really wanted"

"Goodbye" Audrey, Clopin, Tomas and Sophie said almost in unison, waving you with a small sad smile, before the police took them away.



Kaylee heavily sighed and began walking out of the tent: "..come on.. everyone.."

"..justice is blind.. Captain.." Harlequin quietly said.

"..yeah.. I know..Kaylee sighted."

"Well, now that it seems like this whole thing's just about wrapped up, I think i'll exeunt" Rogue says, getting up to leave "This case has raised some interesting points, and I have to see a man about a dog..."

A painfully bright flash, suddenly projected out of Kaylee's eye, blinding Burner.
The same second, half a dozen lightning bolts and telekinetic push spells struck Burner, as the unicorns in the police squad unleashed their magic barrage almost at the same moment.

The force of the collective spells sent Burner flying through the tent, ripping a hole in its fabric. Burner flew backwards on a distance of almost 10 meters, before she fell to the ground.

The combination of telekinetic push spells that hit her head, and the lightning bolts that worked like several tasers, knocked her out almost immediately.



Sanders raised his hand, erecting a shield barrier around the tent, while another dozen cops surrounded Burners unconscious body, in a circle of a 10 meter radius.

They looked heavily augmented. The Zerber police unit insignia was visible on their chests. One of them, a nearly two meter tall man, began to slowly approach Burner. His footsteps were very heavy. At a guess, he looked like his skin was layered with armor and bones reinforced.

Several of his team mates cast a shielding sphere around him, as he neared Burner and began to work on searching for and disarming explosives.




Harlequin deeply sighed: "...how unnecessary"

She kept her hand resting on the hilt of her sword, as one of the augmented police officers placed cuffs on Naomi and began slowly escorting her towards the police van.


"...its.. easy to forget sometimes.." Harlequin quietly said: "..people are more than just statistics... they're more than just numbers on paper..

All life is precious. It is a gift. I don't know how, or why, but, we were given this gift.

And every person in this world, has dreams, desires, plans he wants to accomplish. He has family, friends.. his life is connected to many, many people.


That's why.. even when a single person dies.. its.. a tragedy.
Its very easy to take a life... but its impossible to fix. Its irreversible. It impacts not only the person in question, but everyone he is connected to. His family, his friends... everyone suffers.

That's why, its important to protect life...


I can't allow Burner to endanger anyone else" Harlequin quietly said, then looked at Rain:

"I don't mind if I get hurt or killed. If it was to protect someone, I am content with it"





Back in the other tent, Madelyn looked at Rogue and nodded to him with a smile:

"..thank you for helping us... for.. helping me.. I won't forget what everyone did for me" she placed her hands over her heart and smiled:

"...everyone.. helped me accomplish something, I didn't even dare dream of... seeing my family again...

Thank you" she brightly smiled.

Twilight rubbed her chin.

"Oboro, you can still write, right?"

The blue mare nods. "As long as I have a sturdy enough surface, yes. Or on a computer, even if it's slower."

"Good" Her boss states. "Then I want you to get me a few people to search that labyrinth for those blueprints, under command of Arnold. Search it high and low, and burn them. Take any suspicious papers along for study or destruction too."

Another nod. "Anything else?"

"No, that's it for now." The purple mare says, looking at the box again. "I'll try to damage it as much as possible while leaving it's skin intact." She hold the black box in one hand, her other hand pointing a finger at it. She closes one eye, heat surrounding the tip of her one finger. She looks like she's about to dissect it.

Oboro let out a sigh. "Then allow me to be blunt... After we return to Equestria, I resign myself from this duty."

Twilight instantly stopped, turning to look at the blue mare. ".... Come again?"

Before Oboro could reply, they could hear the commotion from the blasts. The two share a glance and go there.

(Naomi)
As she is being cuffed Naomi speaks up "Before my freedom is gone and I still have a voice, can I request my jacket be buried with my father? He was one of the helicopter pilots killed during one of the attempts to capture Marek. His name is Officer Terrance Shizuka"

(Radiance)
Radiance heads towards the commotion as well.

(Frost)
Without a word, Frost leaves the tent after the majority of the group goes. She steps out of the tent and looks up at the sky.

Kaylee nodded: "I'll take care of it" she said to Naomi, then heavily sighed and looked to where Burner was:
"...what a mess" she sent a hand through her hair.


As more people started gathering in the tent, Kaylee looked at everyone and weakly waved.

Cookie slowly stepped in and looked around with worry: "...the arrests.. didn't go well?.."


"I have to protect innocent people" Kaylee quietly said: "..that's.. my job" she rubbed her face a little, trying to shake off the fatigue that accumulated during the past twenty four hours.
After a few moments, she noticed Twilight and called:

"..hey Twi? I heard Tomas say something about possible employment with you? Did you offer him a job?" she asked, releasing a small smile.



Harlequin waited several moments, watching the police work, then finally looked at Rain:

"...I'm sorry, what did you wish to discuss about.. Audrey.. Swan?"




As Rogue exits the camp, the sight of a ravaged street comes into view. Most of the debris still wasn't cleared out, with huge chunks laying in the middle of the road.

Throughout the chaos, you spot a lone payphone, by the street corner. Its covered in ash, but looks undamaged.

Burner looks up at the figure and gives a quite chuckle, "you finally caught the big bad. Congrads." She coughs slightly, "I got one more thing for you though." She looks up and her flash bulb sparks flashing the officers around her, "HAH fuck you." She lays her head back again and lets out a quite sigh.

Rain frowns and wraps an arm around Harle, "I want her as an advisor... to you and I...
I think shes a genius and would make a fantastic advisor..." she says quitely.

Fire stands leaning against a tent post she glances around, "After 15 minutes am I legally allowed to leave?" She crosses her arms looking to one of the officers.

"Ah an arrest. Should've realized." Twilight said.

But when she was asked about employment, she looks confused. Ä job? When did I-"

It clicked in her head, as she turns to the blue mare behind her, who looks a bit meeker now. Twilight didn't seem angry, more worried. ".... Oboro... What happened?"

The blue mare looked at the floor. "I... Lost most feeling in my left arm... A prosthetic won't fix this, the shoulder nerves were dmaaged... I will never be able to protect you with one arm. So I..." She swallows a lump in her throat. "I asked him to..."

The emotions seem to get to the wounded pegasus, as the words can't come out. Twilight, however, layed a hand on her shoulder, looking at her. "I see now... Thank you. It's been an honor having you as my ally."

Oboro's eyes widen, a smile forming. Tears still in her eyes, being wiped. "Thank you, bo- Princess."

(Radiance)
"Considering who they were capturing Cookie, I'd say it went better than expected" Radiance rubs the back of his head

(Frost)
Frost makes her way back to one of the entryway's to the Labyrinth she is aware of. Without any hesitation, she steps into the dark mazelike area. An aura of light floating by her shoulder guiding her path as she wanders. Keeping in mind of her path Frost eventually finds herself in a secluded room, she removes any debris or corpses from it then kills her own magical light.

The mage sits in the center of the dark room for a long time. Eating her small store of sandwiches when hungry and conjuring ice for water when thirsty. Eventually, Frost makes a choice, an internal one that she had kept from everyone.

A glow of magic, this time a dark purple surrounds her. The tearing of flesh and shifting of bone can be heard from within her body. Unable to contain her screams as her spine shifts to allow for a set of new limbs. Her horn sparking, cracking, and falling to the ground. Then, from her back sprout a pair of wings. The flow of blood throughout her body starts to dye her coat. Changing from an icy blue to purple that is only mere shades from being black. The new being does eventually stand. Using the blood that had also splattered on the walls from her transformation she uses her fingers to scrawl a single word on them before stumbling back out of the dark and into the city. The word was Nevermore.

"And they say these things don't give peeps their monies-worth" Rogue chuckles as he steps inside the payphone and enters sufficient coinage to make a call to Verria. The phone rings for a few seconds, before being picked up on the other end.

"Dobro pozhalovat' v..." a voice with a thick Verrian accent began, before Rogue cut them off.

"A kak naschet starika zimoy?" Rogue says, before switching back to Equestrian "It's okay mate, turned out 'twas all just a big false alarm, so need to panic, I manag..." and this time 'twas his conversation partner's turn to interupt him.

"But I found it" the man said calmly, and just like that, Rogue's blood ran cold.

"What?"

"I did what you asked, checked the garden, and you were right, one of the gnomes was a fake"

"Which one?" Rogue asks, rubbing a hand over his jaw to scratch at the stubble that had built up.

"Happy"

"Right, then I guess I need to go score some drugs then..."

(Moon)

Moon sighed and just listened as everyone talked. She didn’t have anything else to say. She pulled out her flask and took another drink.

(Mist)

Mist was leaning against a wall on the street, close to the payphone but not right next to it. She lit a cigarette and checked her phone. She then called someone.

“Yes? You tried to call me?”

“You got the results back? What do they say?”

“What?! No! I can’t be........”

Several of the police officers around Burner winced, covering their eyes. The bomb defusal guy who was standing next to Burner, closed one of his eyes with a grimace but otherwise appeared unaffected.
He crouched down and began defusing whatever looked dangerous, then cuffed Burner into a set of very heavy looking cuffs and began to take her away.



Harlequin remained quiet for a long moment, thinking things over. It was impossible to tell her emotion, the mask obscured her perfectly and she seemingly relied on it a lot.
After some time she said:
"...Miss Swan.. was convicted to serve a very long time.. filing an appeal to shorten her sentense would be.. difficult.. but I suppose not impossible.

The Union owes Nyx a favor, after we intervened today. Perhaps we can use that as leverage.. we'll have to consult our legal advisors.
The process will likely be long, so prepare for a long beurocratic battle"

Harlequin released a small smile.. you think. It was hard to tell just by her voice.



One of the police officers looked at Fire with a slightly confused expression:
"..w-why, did you do something wrong?"

"You're okay Fire" Kaylee called with a smile: "I don't want to hold you any longer.than necessary..
You.. probably have places you wonna go now, that you're free.. visit family"
She happily waved: "Thanks for your help. It was good to see you again" she smiled.



After hearing Oboro's and Twilights conversation, Kaylee caught a horrified and saddened expression:
"...I'm... I'm sorry this happened. Hey.. Oboro, if you need anything, you can reach out to us, okay?" She released a small, saddened smile.



Standing next to Radiance, Cookie crossed her arms, frowning into space: "Harming helpless folk.." she said quietly:
"Now that's just not cool buaaaah! They should've surrendered peacefully and thought about what they done-cookie"



Kaylee looked around the camp for a bit, then zeroed in on Moon and happily moved towards her:
"Hey" she grinned: "Listen, the hospital were Johan is staying, isnt really that far from here. I wanted to jump  in there to make sure he's doing okay, what with the battle in Adelheid and everything.
You wonna come?" She smiled.



Madelyn who was standing nearby, looked in Mists direction, as she exclaimed:
"...Mist? You alright?"




Rogues payphone call seems to have disconnected at the end of the conversation, due to poor phone line conditions after the battle in the city.
You seem to recall hearing rumors of a black market, in one of the abandoned underground railway stations, not too far from here.

Before you could be on your way however, you suddenly noticed a giant shadow that covered the ground.

Cookie looked up at the sky and her eyes went wide in horror:
"...oh - my - GAH!" She pointed upwards.

"C-Cookie calm down!" Maddie called, raising her hands.

"What the heck is that!" Cookie yelled pointing upwards.

"You obviously haven't worked in the police force" Radiance chuckles "At least in my time, that was what we called a Tuesday afternoon."

You hear a brief distored sound, like claws on a chulk board.

Kaylee looked up and shrieked: "Look out!! Its a Roblox Crying Emoji!!! Everybody run before it starts dabbing!!!"

Her voice becomes drowned, as a yellow collosus loomed over the city, raised its mighty hands AND-

Rogue shakes his head and turns away from the emoji, as he starts winding his way through the streets towards where the black market used to be, and hopefully still was. But before he got there, he'd have to do a quick costume change, so as he was walking he kept an eye out for any clothing shops along the way.

The blue pegasus wiped the tears away. "I think I'll be fine, maybe a bit harder to find a job, but-"

Once the shadow begins looming over them, she stops. Both mare look up at what casted the shadow.

They didn't move, they only took in what mess they saw.

Twilight spoke first. "Okay... Pony in the moon, fine. Reality warping Draconequs, sure. Shadow pony, whatever. Changelings, cool. Magic-feeding centaur, why not..."

Oboro continued. "World spanning government, it happens. Giant robots, it's possible. Underground hackers in control of the world, that's the limit..."

They then shouted in unison. "BUT WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!"

Rain winces "Oof... man this city is fucked. Welp time to go home!" She sweeps Harlee of her feet and zips off.

Fire looks up and laughs, "nope... no thanks. Not intrested..." her wings flick open, "mabye i'll go start a megacity in the middle of the desert... yeah..."

Burner laughs, "ITS HERE! THE ONE TRUE GOD!" Her maniacle laughter fills the air.

Violet frowns and looks up. Seeing nothing, "are you guys ok? What did you guys smoke? Burner did you light something."

"THEY CALL ME BURNER FOR A REASON!" she snickers

As Rogue walked along the broken streets, he noticed an old costume shop for a theater.

The giant Roblox Emoji raised its hands and its majestic voice rang over Adelheid:

"BOW BEFORE ME MORTALS AND BE SPARED!!!"

"Go away Emoji!" Kaylee barked: "Go back to VR Chat you demon!"


"LISTEN TO THE SOUND OF MY VOICE" the Emoji roared:
"TAKE A DEEP BREAT
RELAX, AND LET YOUR MIND DRIFT!!!" He called in monotone:

"YOU WILL DO AS I COMMAND.

YOU WILL WATCH THE EMOJI MOVIE
AND YOU WILL LIKE IT"

In another dimension in a frosty north country a single human dies inside.

Madelyn slowly looked up at the sky and sighed:
"Its.. been a very long day, hasn't it"

"Mm" Kaylee nodded with a small smile and reached for her earpiece. She listened to something for a few moments, then smiled wider.

"..hey..Madelyn?" Kaylee said after a moment: "There's... someone who wants to see you.. just outside the tent.

"M-me?" Madelyn asked in slight confusion.

Kaylee only silently nodded and stretched her hand out towards the tents exit, showing the way. A trace of tears and a wide smile over her face.


Madelyn looked at the tents exit, suddenly scared, terrified. She collected her hands over her heart and just stared at its featureless fabric for several moments.
Then, slowly took a step forward, and walked outside.


The courtyard on the other side was mostly empty, save for a lone woman in a gray raincoat.
She wore plain civilian clothing, but judging by her gait and firm stance, she was military, or served in the military at some point, long ago, those habbits tended to stick.

Her broad shoulders and notably large muscles contributed to that feeling. She stood at almost 2 meters height, a mass of muscle. Only barely shorter than Madelyn.

Dark hair, yellow pelt, a few very old barely notable scars on her cheek. She seemed to be in her mid-fifties.
The woman stood straighter and looked at Madelyn in slight confusion:
"...Hello" she said politely after a moment.


Madelyn's eyes began to slowly fill with tears, as she smiled, more brightly than you've ever seen her before:
"........Lisa.." Madelyn quietly said, as tears streamed down her cheeks.


"..Yes?" The woman replied in slight confusion. A rapid train of thought was unraveling behind her eyes, as she watched Madelyn.


"...Lisa.." Madelyn quietly repeated, trying to blink the tears away: "...I found you.."

"..wh-... what?" Lisa stared at Madelyn with increaed confusion, until a sudden, life changing realization reflected behind her eyes.
Lisa quietly gasped, her eyes opening wide in shock and disbelief, desperately wanting to, yet afraid to believe. The similar facial features, the same eyes.


Madelyn released a quiet, relieved laugh, unable to see through the tears and stepped forward.

"...are-" Lisa quietly called, her ears falling down and eyes filling with a flicker of hope, that died so painfully and so long ago, she was terrified to let it loose again:
"...are you my...." Lisa closed her eyes shut, suppressing a quiet sob and afraid to let the tears show:

"...Mom?" She quietly called, looking at Madelyn with tears in her eyes.


"...Lisa.." Madelyn quietly whispered, locking the woman in a tight hug, as tears fell down their cheeks:



"...I found you"
